I am a journalist, columnist and freelance writer. This site shares my publications. They were formed by a unique life experience, but also guided by a search for narrative license and intellectual latitude, to break free from the looming pitfalls of our modern jungle. My pen name is therefore intended to give voice to a man of the 21st century, but adorned with the attributes of a fictional character, from another time. A time some of us wish to restore…
My aim is to defend beauty, goodness, and truth. The aesthetics of this site are testimony to this quest. My writings share ideas on themes on which I have acquired substantial expertise over the past four decades. They are based on a critical analysis that can contribute to awareness, awakening, and ultimately, liberty. Cross-referencing my sources and readings, both in the French-speaking world and at the heart of the Anglosphere, was of this order. Fruitful.
My discoveries were measured by this yardstick. The Arts, with music as a prime focus, are a key category for my research and practice. Health is my lifelong career path. It then became the source of my education on Life. Truth is a path of discovery that I took when I left Paris for the “New South Africa” in 1995.
Having lived in Africa for 35 years, including 31 years in English-speaking Africa, I also gradually became an anglophile, in stages. Then, in 2018 I discovered that this connection to the British Isles was also partly genetic. Over time, becoming a good connoisseur of the black continent, crisscrossed during multiple trips south of the Sahara, I found myself steadily observing Europe from my exile in the South… not yet Global. Even if my host countries have nurtured my investigations, they have also helped me return to my source. Hence, in my articles and essays, I write first and foremost from a French perspective. Therefore, my insights ground themself in Western religious, cultural, and artistic ideas. In European values. Maybe this quest for global travel and constant discoveries started in reading the Tintin comic books during my childhood, at the heart of historical Flanders. Viewpoint matters. So, where do we start ?
Out of Africa ? Yes, indeed ! Three words. So many meanings. A wealth of investigative material… This is where I am writing from. A sublime cinematic dream, to start with. Then, John Barry’s music. A theory of man’s origin and an invitation to research humanity’s destiny. The destination will have to be sovereignty. Take back control !
I am also writing from an island on the edge of the Indian Ocean. A fragment of the old British Empire. But, initially, a natural jewel fashioned by sailors from Saint-Malo, three centuries ago and sanctified by a priest hailing from Normandy and perfectly defined by a genius thinker from America. Both in the 19th century. Father Jacques Désiré Laval and Mark Twain. Each in their own way began to rekindle within me the desire to find my way back to my homeland. To continue this lifelong journey through words. And who knows, perhaps one day, to finally settle down, realizing I have fulfilled the essence of my childhood dreams…

Who am I ?
I was born French. I then became Mauritian. The Isle of France is a romantic ideal that could unify my dual nationalities. Writing from a tiny speck in the ocean. From here, but primarily from elsewhere. From Europe. Born in France in the sixties at the time of Independance in Port Louis, and born again (pun intended) in Milton Keynes in July 1981, my life path has always been a dual carriage way. Having lived, traveled, and worked all over the British Isles since my teenage years, I am an incessant part time resident in the United Kingdom and Ireland. From London to Dublin. Cardiff to Newcastle. Limerick to Edinburgh. Shere to Bundoran. All the way to some faraway roots on the Isle of Man…
After an initial 18-month African stay in Ouagadougou, capital city of Burkina Faso, barely interrupted by a two-year transit in Paris, I reinvented myself by relocating to Jo’burg (South Africa) in 1995. After falling in love with the Cape of Good Hope at the end of 1993. The aptly named “Fairest Cape of All”… I then decided to move to Mauritius at the start of the new millenium and called it home. As a business owner, my first goal was to control the means of production… For 25 years, I have been an entrepreneur in various fields of allopathic and holistic healthcare. I am also a producer and author at the center of a musical body of work in Mauritius and an Arts commentator for various magazines.
My journey as a truth seeker first began, as is often the case, as a reader in South Africa. I first attended a lecture by David Icke in 1997. This led me to an in-depth research into Truth. Later, I held several meetings with Michael Tellinger, at the beginning of the XXIst century. Since 9/11, the cat is out of the bag. As E. Michael Jones defined it in his book, “Logos rising”, a quest for Truth is spreading all over the world. In the early years of the XXIst century, as internet content exploded, we saw the advent of independant media in America, followed by Britain, Australia and South Africa. One article on a New York alternative media : “Reality Sandwich | Evolving Consciousness Bite by Bite”, was my Eureka moment ! It was in May 2007. MSM was non longer an option. Charles Eisenstein said it best in his brillant piece on our modern world : “The Ubiquitous Matrix of Lies”.
This eventully set myself on a path and formed a vision : “clearing-up the modern jungle“. This intellectual mission can be best summarized by a quote from Sir Roger Scruton : “Given that Europe’s legacy to the world consists in the two great goods of Christianity and Democracy it is hardly surprising if the EU no longer has the endorsement of the European people…” (from his book “How to Be a Conservative”). A necessary condition to envision a new era of redemption, security, and restored prosperity for future generations. In France, in Europe. And maybe here too…
Stepping stones
Travelling, making friends, essential readings. From small to great victories, forging one’s own path. As George Orwell said it: “Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear”… Everywhere I went, new discoveries, constant learning, forging bonds, and meeting the “Aristocracy of the Mind” at different latitudes. And along the way, dialectically returning to my Source. To the beloved country of my childhood.
World travels: I have lived in 7 different countries : France, England, Ireland, Wales, Burkina Faso, South Africa and Mauritius. My professional assignments and holidays took me to the 5 continents, in 80 countries.
Publishing and writing: I self-published an Art Book in 2004, then had my first Essay published in France, by “Les Editions du Verbe Haut” in July 2025. In December 2026, I am releasing a collection of poems and aphorisms. This completes my trilogy on Mauritius… so far.
Music writing & concert production : In 1989, I started organizing a Gala Night for my business school in Lille, France. An ambitious project in both financial and artistic terms. It was nine months in the making, featuring a New York-based world-famous band as the headline act. The event was a resounding success that triggered a passion for music. A passion that endures to this day…
That journey continued in Ireland during the 1990–91 academic year at the University of Limerick, where I was an active member of the “Student Entertainment Crew.” Those six months on the Emerald Isle gave me the opportunity to help organize concerts for major British bands touring in Munster. I later chased this dream in Gauteng, South Africa.
In 2013, in Mauritius, I was able to cap off these artistic achievements by becoming the manager of a vocal jazz trio — a role in which I act as songwriter, co-composer, tour manager, and producer. It was a truly inspiring experience filled with unforgettable memories, including concerts in ten countries abroad. This work as a writer, lyricist, and storyteller (creating music videos and album concepts) paved the way for me to embark on a new path as an author. After exploring the realm of Beauty, writing literary essays allowed me to take a new step towards a deeper quest for Truth.
These combined experiences have shaped my singular path in life and crafted my passion for words and ideas. Modest achievements, granted, compared to our great ancestors. But a path of challenges met, of willpower overcoming obstacles and small, repeated successes, which also fueled the burning fire ignited by my quest for meaning. Small steppingstones indeed, but character forming victories nonetheless…
